I'd say that your son needs to decide whether he really wants to work in an environment like that, even if the "bad" sales manager backs down. For my money, I'd say that school should be more important, but then again, my brother-in-law was in roughly the same situation as your son - H.S., then military, then some school, he wound up selling cars and is currently the business manager/finance manager of a medium-sized dealership pulling down low six figures, although he works 6 days a week to do it.
It sounds like your son is caught in the middle of a pissing match between 2 sales managers (how can there be 2 sales managers?). Not a good place to be. If he really likes selling the cars he should figure out who has the power here and whether it's worth it to stay and fight a bit. As an attorney, I can tell you that they can fire him any time they want, for pretty much any defensible reason, including his unavailability to work certain shifts, or for no reason at all, so don't waste your time and money talking to another attorney.
I wish your son luck,
Scott
