Real Saab story: It's a cop

ASPEN - A college student from Oregon found out the hard way that even the police drive fancy cars in this glitzy resort town.

Wearing only socks and shoes, Christopher "Joe" Andrews stood in the middle of Cooper Street Wednesday greeting vehicles, police said. Unwittingly, he made the same gesture to a police car.

"He said later he had never seen a Saab police car," officer Bill Linn said.

Several other naked men were seen scampering in the vicinity, but only Andrews was arrested.

"Everyone else immediately realized, "This is a police car,' but he was standing right in front of our headlights and didn't realize what was going on until it was time to get away," Linn said.

Andrews, whom Linn said he believed to be 19, was handcuffed and taken to jail. He was cited for disorderly conduct and fined $250.
