Since we're in a motorcycle topic I want to add a perspective/explaination to those who do not ride. I've had a lot of aggression taken out on me as a motorcyclist when the superslab turns into a parking lot. Granted, as I slowly cruise (30mph) down the shoulder, passing stop and go traffic, I appear to be the get ahead "jerk". Maybe in some big picture I am, but at the time I'm trying to save my bike from seizure. Those of us with air-cooled motors need motion. Preferrably over 35mph per design. It's a sickening sound to hear your engine lose idle and ping horrorably. This is why it is legal for motorcycles to safely lane split in California. Otherwise the highway would be littered with air-cooled motorcycles with seized engines.
Just a FYI to those who have thoughts of rage as the air-cooled motorcylist takes to the shoulder during one our nations lovely stop and go moments.
Thanks
Terry
