Got lucky for once and found a car two days before the Autotrader ads were coming out. 89 Seville with 71K original miles, 4.5 L, carmine red metallic with white leather int. This is a local, one owner, true 'little old lady' Caddy. I just about died when I saw it, had to remind myself not to stuff money in their hands before I test drove it. Car has all records, brand new Goodrich tires, new Interstate battery, and I just about giggled when I opened the hood, spotless and had never been steam cleaned. Only thing that's mechanically wrong is a broken motor mount, and I did that during the test drive (hey, gotta flog 'em a little to find the weak spots).
Only boo-boo's are the typical "Daddilac" scars, front bumper stops worn and the passenger side rear bumper and mirror has a few scuffs. Very common on Caddy's, it's hard to keep track of all that car, especially when you're um, a more mature driver.
Asking 3K, I didn't even haggle, just gave 'em 100 bux to hold it while I went and got a cashier's check!
I need another car like I need a hole in the head, but this is a car i'm buying for a good friend to use until he gets back on his feet (4 kids, new job but still no money). He's gonna DIE when he sees it :)
