Just took my mother out to test drive the 2.5L Jaguar X-type (she refuses to even drive a Saab on the thoery that it is a "younger" car).

We had an appointment to drive the car with a local dealer. My mother does a lot of highway driving so we needed to get it out on the highway. We were gone from the dealership maybe 40 minutes and put about 15 miles on the car.

When we got back the sales rep was acting annoyed, apparently because we had the car out too long. We were prepared to negotiate for the larger engine Jag (3.0L) after another much shorter test drive, but he made up excuses as to why he couldn't let us drive the car, even though we had made the appointment explicitly so we could drive both.

Is taking a 15 mile test drive of a $41,000 car unreasonable? I don't think so, but I'm interested in your comments. We may just decide to go to a different dealer.
