'86 900 T, three door
The other night my automatic sunroof was stuck opened. It slowly crawled shut (but not all the way) after multiple attempts with the switch. When I got home I broke out the manual, located the motor in the rear, and managed to get the roof all the way closed.
While fixing the problem I found the following:
1)I think the motor still works. I say this b/c when my someone else hit the switch I heard the motor spinning
2)When I use the switch to open the roof, it works (troubled, but will open). The roof stands still when I try to close using the switch.
I did a couple searchs this morning and I think that, since the motor spins and it will open on reverse that I may only have to clean the contacts and not need to purchas a new motor, right?
Two questions:
Could someone varify this? Does what I say make sense?
How do I get to the contacts (where are they located) to clean them and what should I use to clean them? I didn't see and postings on locating and cleaning the contacts.
Thanks in advance,
Tmikal, 86 900 T, 240K and still sAAbing...
