your critique.
I like the base of the team (with the exception of the goaltending). They have some promising players in Thornton and Samsonov and some nice defensemen in Gill and McLaren. However, the goal situation has deteriorated since the departure of Andy Moog. Seems like we are going for flashes in the pan (Blaine Lacher, Jim Carey, etc.) rather than getting an established veteran who has a history of coming up big. Curtis Joseph? or maybe take a flyer on Eddie Belfour? I blame this on ownership. Jacobs does not want to spend the money. Dafoe and Guerrin are gone because they will want to much money. I mean, would this series have been different if we had Anson Carter and Allison (and please Jozef Stumpel and Glenn Murray [how bout those forty goals!] are not as good). The Bruins are going to be a Original Six version of the forever .500 Hartford Whalers. Bruins fans deserve better and more compasionatte ownership. We pay outrageous money for tickets and concessions. I personally go to providence to watch my hockey when I am home in NE and like the minor league teams.
