Your right to a certain point but I'll point out the differances I have noticed while owning both the ng900 and a 9-3.
9-3
very poor range for turning on or off the alarm
upgraded brakes, if that is you don't have a ng900 model years 97 and 98
different grill
uprated spring rating on the new 9-3
radio incorparated into the steering wheel
better low end torque
shorter gear ratio compared to my ng900
the 99se had arm rest built into the seats
slightly thicker steering wheel
Air intake is designed better
Air transition piece is designed better
free flowing intercooler
DI cassette is black
BOV hose leading back to air intake is designed better
anti-whiplash protection
side airbags
engine has a heat shield over the exhaust header
A handle is designed into the releasing the trunk on the outside of the trunk
For some reason the leather feels different, more texture
Can't forget the cupholder in the dash
wiper blades have an intermitted time that can be adjusted
floor mats match the car floor unlike my ng900
Ahhh thats all I can think of at the moment. I haven't driven the 9-3 in awhile but will be driving it tommorrow. All in all they are basically the same car.
