Engineering was definitely the worst for books. One semester I got hit for $700. No joke! The best thing to do is buy it used. Also, if you are in a pinch, borrow or rent a book from someone who had it last semester. But if it is a brand new book you can't do that, talk to your prof, sometimes they have an extra you can borrow. Also, if it is a revised edition, alot of times you can use the old one, they just rearrange the problems and a few other little things, but make sure you keep track with someone that has the new one. The best thing to do after though, is don’t sell it back! Keep it! In my twisted mind, if I pay 100 bucks for a book and I keep it, I see it on my shelf and I think, there is a $100. If I sell it back for $25, then it’s only worth that. I never sold any of my books back. Those rip-off bookstores can kiss my ______!!!!
