I'll see if I can find some pictures of it...But. 8 years ago, on the way home from a hunting trip, I passed a Ford Dealership in Cedar Springs MI. I saw what looked to be a suburban raised about 3 inches , streched 8 inches, and built a lot heavier than any chevy. I stopped and 2 hours later, we drove home in our new Ford "suburban". It was a conversion vehicle from white river michigan or soemthing...I believe the company was Centurion. It was a one ton Heavy Duty Quad cab ford with the box cut off, and a fullsize bronco rear end. It had the large ford diesel engine. Atleast once a week, I had someone pull upto me at a stoplight and ask, when did for make a Suburban. 4 wheel drive, 18 inch wheels, big meaty tires Diesel. I think we payed 18000 for it, as it was a demo, three years old with 6000 miles on it. The best thing we ever did was buy an extended warrenty. It was in and out of the ford dealership all the time....They new our whole family.
That was a truck that people looked at. Oh, and the diesel still got 16 mpg....almost 20 in the mountains pulling a 26' travel trailor....The dealer couldn't figure that out either.
