Actually, the 92 was transverse.

Basic data Saab 92 1950-1956:
Saabs first car. Presented in 1947. Production started in Dec 1949.
Two door, four seated sedan, unit-body construction, front wheel drive, torsion bars and telescopic shock absorbers. Wheels 5,00 x 15". Coefficient of drag 0,35.
Transversally mounted, two cylinder two stroke 764 cm3 engine with 25 (28)hp. 3-speed transmission with freewheel. Water cooled according to the thermo siphon principle.
Directional arrows or lights. 6-volts electrical system.
Total weight 805 kg. Length 3950 mm, width 1620 mm, height 1450 mm. Wheelbase 2470 mm Track 1180 mm.
