KeithB,
I do not repeat (or use) a lot of the advice that my father has given me over the years, but i'm glad i took this advice ( by the way i work for a mechanical contruction compkeny, with a MS in Construction Management, AS in Civil Engineering, & have a LSIT in Surveying) He told me "a o.k. engineer can become a good teacher, but a great teacher will never be an engineer." The point of this is their are many fields of M.E. Try something different than where you did your co-op ( I'm glad i do not work where i did my co-op) If after 2-5-10-25 years in engineering you decide this is not for me, just think how much more "practically" experience you will have to give to your students. Yes we need teacher, but without engineer the teachers would not have a building to teach in, or new experiment for to teacher their pupils.
