Well last night was not a good one for my parent’s 9-5 Aero. Driving to our local mall we hit a hole in the road. Our front passenger rim is bent resulting in a flat as well as damage to the rear wheel. We have not gotten it to the dealer so to there maybe further damage to the front end.
The road was not lit at all and there were no signs that were visible at night, we filed a report with the local police, the mass highway department and state police, as it is a state road. The contractors who are re-paving it left the road in a sorry state, on the entire stretch or road there was one hole that was coned off. This morning we went out to take pictures of the road.
My questions are this:
1. What is with the lug wrench that comes with spare, it was totally insufficient, we had to call an AAA truck to loosen the nuts?
2. The AAA truck operator said that claims are usually made to the contractors who worked on the road, have any of you heard of this working out, any suggestions on what we should be doing?
3. How much will it cost to recondition the rims they are the 2-piece BBS rims? Or is our only option to buy new ones?
I am still kind of numb about the whole thing our beautiful Aero is crippled.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent.
