not so with the Saab...but on some cars, (like my late Civic) there is a shelf portion of the dash ...to put "stuff" on. For the life of me I cant figure out what logical reason designers would design such a thing. 9 out of 10 passengers upon sitting down would put SOMETHING on this stupid shelf, like keys or magazines/papers..etc...It would drive me nuts because whatever was there would slide around on each turn of the car...talk about distracting ! Safety hazard.
