I was walking downtown the other night and a Z4 was sitting at a stop light next to me. I didn't think that the car had been released yet. Did I see a pre-pro car or are they in showrooms?
I'll have to say that they are flashy. It didn't look attractive in the pictures, but it has enough flash to turn your head. The exterior lighting was very eye catching. The way that it reflected light was interesting. The muliple angles (especially in the doors) made the car almost sparkle as it passed. It, in a way, tricked the eyes into thinking that it was a gorgeous car. I'm not sure that the car would work as well in a dark or non-metallic color. In the pictures I criticized the hind quarters, but in person the rise in the center of the trunk lid's rear edge combined with the wide stance, and the tail lamp shape (and brilliance) made the car look down-right mean.
Autoweek has a first drive article on it, so I'll read it before I decide whether or not the car is worth writing home to mom about.
Cheers,
Brian.
