Interesting Chase end-of-lease info.

The lease on my Viggen ends in about four weeks and Chase (the leasing company) has sent me all kinds of paperwork with my lease-end options. The one document that I found the most interesting was where they told me that they would allow up to $1,500 worth of damage to the vehicle without charging me for excess wear and tear. That's right... $1,500!!! I couldn't believe it either. And get this, the no longer perform a vehicle inspection before retrieving the vehicle. They also wouldn't extend the lease for more than 30 additional days because they have residual value insurance on the car and that's as long as their policy lasts.
I've leased from Chase before and all of this is very different than my dealings with them in the past. They've always inspected the vehicles with fine-toothed combs and threatened to charge for every little thing. In fact, I've heard the same thing for many sources, including my dealership service department. And allowing for $1,500 worth of damage? Nobody I've talked with has ever heard of this.
Just thought I'd throw this out for some conversation and ask if anyone else has had the same experience or gotten the same information?
