Entry level sports have never been so good...

I agree as well,
There has never been so many fabulous cars at entry level prices! I came of driving age in the mid- 1970's when entry level "performance" cars struggled to reach 60mph in less than 10-11 seconds. In 1975, my 280Z had only 140 HP, no AC, no leather, crank windows, steel wheels - and was considered a premium entry-level GT. The new Tiburon would eat most of those cars (BMW 2002's, Triumph TR-7's and probably the Alfa GTV6 - all cars that I cross-shopped) for lunch! Think of the joyous cars out there for short money: Civic si, Neon RT, Golf 1.8Turbo, Acura RSX, Prelude (I mourn its demise - I owned two), Sentra SE-R, and not to forget the WRX (that car was SO much fun to drive - I am drooling over the 260hp version lurking in the future,it eclipses the capacity of early '90's naturally aspirated Porsches for Crimany's sake!!) Jeez!! ;-)
At times I wonder what actually drives my need for an Aero - Oh never mind - its a kick-ass joy to drive - that's it! And, my granola friends and colleagues think I "repented" from my "ass-kicking burnt orange" BMW coupe days - little do they know (or, actually care for that matter).
Well, sorry for the rant, but as the sun sets on fossil fuel cars - the interim phase is a hoot!
Best,
eric
