They are both good cars and if you get ones with a good maintenance history they should be OK. The only caveat I have is 2 friend's experience with Suby Legacys. They say not to expect a lot out of the ABS brakes. Both friends tell me the wheels can be relied on to lock up in slippery conditions. Also, be aware Subys and Hondas are not necessarily cheap to keep. Both can have some pretty astonishing parts prices, and labor is about the same as a Saab. Subarau is noted for doing some things that make ordinary items quite expensive. The frequency of repair may be better, than your Saab, though. If you are 6 feet or taller, make sure you fit well. I'm 6'2" with long legs and find these cars are only good for an hour or so before I'm twitching to find a comfortable position. Japanese seats are nowhere near as good as Saab chairs.
