I just enrolled in a MCSE/MCSA program after getting laid off late in the summer and not finding any decent technical jobs. I should be A+ certified in early January, followed by network+ certification and a bunch of others culminating in MS systems admin/engineering later next year.

I'm not missing the typical december crunch (I was working in the ski industry) where I'd work 80+ hour weeks without overtime pay in exchange for a hundred dollar christmas bonus.

I'm getting about 75% of my former income in unemployment benefits, and expect to be able to double my previous income within a year.
