Recently made a trip to Europe (France, Switzerland and briefly Italy) and noticed that there are more Saabs in Switzerland than the other 2 countries. Saw quite a few 9-5 Wagons, 9-3 Convertibles and a number of other Saab models.
I was visiting these countries on holidays and was driving a rented Merz Vito with 7 other passengers. Covered total distance of 3,024km over almost a 2 week period. The Merz sucks - no power is one (with only some 20,000km on it when I took over the car), and the rear wiper is not working most of the time and at times, it wipes on its own!
My impression of drivers in these 3 countries - Italians and some French drivers have no patient at all. Some stared at me after overtaking my slow moving car (being new to the place and especially at night when the visibility is poor, I travelled on the slow lane most of the time). One young driver in France even showed his xxx finger after overtaking in his yyy tiny Opel... In Switzerland, drivers and people there are kind and courteous, they gave way readily and are generally more patient on the road.
I do hope then that I can have my Saab with me ...
