So, that is the question.

I'm looking at the 1999 9-3's and am looking at dumping my 2002 GTI for one.

The place I drove by had a bunch of '99 9-3s but only 1 manual & it wasn't an SE.

As I understand it, the SE has a 200HP engine, and the regular coupe has 185. Would the manual tranny make up for the lack of 15 HP? Also, other than climatronic is there anything else worth note in the SE's?

The SE I was looking at was $2000 more than the coupe. so I'm having a hard time justifying spending the extra cash & getting an auto. (I prefer manual)

Also, is there anything noteable about Saab's auto trannys?
