I bundle the digital photos in with a bunch of words and send them to Munson Printing, where they produce a few thousand copies to be sent to NINES subscribers :-).

Seriously, for an easy entry into digital photographic printing, more and more of the one-hour labs are acquiring the ability to produce regular photographic prints from digital media. Simply upload your digi-pics into your computer, crop and manipulate to taste, and burn them onto a CD. Take them to your one-hour lab, and get prints! WalMart/Sam's Club will have this facility nationwide by the end of this year - many of the locations are already set up.

Giant Eagle, a supermarket chain expanding from its home base in Pittsburgh will allow you to upload photos over the net, then pick them up at your convenience.

Finally, hobbyists may want to print pictures at home on a photo-quality printer. FWIW, a couple of years ago Popular Photography compared photo-quality printers with custom lab prints - they found that the 7 color printers (Epson and Canon at the time) were superior to photographic prints in terms of color and sharpness!
