I had the same bright idea in the mid 70's. I put some amonia into a Volvo wash tank. Later on the bakelight cap had turned to something that looked like sawdust.
So what will happen to the pump seals, hoses, knozzlezs and check valves. Not worth it!
I keep windex in my Saabs, and spray that on the windows and use clean cloth that I put through the washer. Many as-new cloth shop towels seem to repel water and do not work well for this. And note that the red cloth shop towels release an emense amount of color when you wash them, so be very careful about what goes in the wash with those.
