lot of fuel because it has to move a TANK! One of the _big_ advantages
of jet engines over piston engines is much less wear and tear and
consequently much less need of maintenance.
Jay Leno has a bike which is powered by a gas turbine engine, and
thirty years ago, Chrysler was developing a gas turbine engine for
passenger cars.
It's doable, but probably infeasible for one company to develop on
its own, like rotary engines for Mazda. Rotary engine development is
powered by a lot of free labor of Mazda engineers working on the project
in their spare time.
