...but I heard that while Nic Pellegrino is unparalleled with the older Saabs (C900's, older 9000's)he isn't too current with the newer ones. I'm sure if you buy a car from him, he'd treat you well. Those damn window stickers proclaiming "serviced and tuned by Nic Pellegrino" certainly are ubiquitous on older local Saabs (no-one puts a sticker in my window... OK, you can put big yellow "R" stickers all over if they make me go faster).
When I was at school here Nic tried to badly rip-off one of my friends... maybe he's better with you old farts, who show more respect. He seemed slimy to my friend, and I've since talked to a few older former Saab owners who echo this view. As with all small shops, how your personalities mesh is important. A lot of Ithaca businesses like to take undergrads to the cleaners.
The two general garages that I've heard only good things about are Patterson's Garage and the Good-Year off 13. For brakes, exhausts, suspension, etc, these guys would be fine. Beyond that it may get difficult. Self-sufficiency is the only cure.
Best,
Lutfisk
