They now make the C230 as a sedan. I don’t know what the original post was referring to. I was implying that the entire C-class line was spotty reliability. It seems that Mercedes has really fallen behind in the reliability game. I read somewhere that Mercedes was working so hard at getting Chrysler more reliable that they forgot about their own cars. I’m to the point where there isn’t any German car that impresses me. What’s the point of a really nice “drivers car” when most of the time you are driving to the shop for repairs? I want some reliability.
I’m surprised that Saab doesn’t promote this more. After all, according to Consumer Reports, the 9-5 is more reliable than the Toyota Camry. Why not promote this as a way to draw in the Japanese buyer? It’s a great combination of European fun-to-drive and Japanese reliability. Then again, looking at the list of stuff you’ve had go wrong with your 9-5 perhaps Japanese reliability is a stretch – maybe Korean reliability ;-).
Just a thought,
Craig
