until you need something fixed. I'm in Raleigh. The service writers leave a lot of be desired (actually Juan is pretty decent, but I think he is #3 inline so you only get him if the other 2 are busy).
2 examples:
1. Front end thunking noise. I told them, I told them, I told them that it was loose nuts in the front end suspension. Even showed them posts and solutions from this site. Went to get my car, they said they couldn't find anything. Backing out of the space...THUNK...I stopped in the middle of their driveway, ran inside, almost had to make a scene to get a mechanic out there. The wrench heard it right away, and then I showed him the posts I left with the writers (they never showed them to the mechanics). Had to make another appointment to finally get it fixed.
2. Rear washer pump went out. Took the car in during scheduled maintenance. They didn't have the part (common occurence), said it would take 2 weeks. Called back 2 weeks later, need another week. Forgot about it, called back after 4 weeks, they said part had been in for 2 weeks! Had to make another appointment to take it back.
Stocking parts (or lack of ) is a common problem. I needed a new foglight a few weeks back. They wanted $175 and 2 weeks. Got it in two days for $120 from eEuroparts.com.
I've NEVER been able to get a Saab loaner...they use Die-woohoos a lot.
Blow past the writers and talk directly to the wrench when you can.
