I live in CT and we go there at least once a year. There is an antique boat rendezvous there in late july (Jul 26, 2003 - Jul 27, 2003) and they have a lobster festival (May 24, 2003 - May 26, 2003). The permanent exhibits include The Charles W. Morgan, a whaling ship that you can walk through, a small boat museum, the reproduction of the Amistad, and exhibits of what a 19th century New England whaling village would look like. There is also the Mystic Aquarium nearby as well as a shopping village.
