NuFinish is a cleaner wax product. It uses fairly harsh chemicals to clean the paint while protecting at the same time. It also uses lots of fillers to hide swirl marks and light scratches (hence the staining on your trim).
Collinite is a pure wax with no cleaning ability. So prior to its use you will need to use a polish to remove swirls, scratches, and oxidation. Although Collinite did well in an independent wax test (see gurureports.org) it has a rep for being a bit difficult to use. I prefer a wax called S100. Its made by the same folks as P21S, the best rated carnauba wax in that test I mentioned. S100 is basically the same stuff marketed to motorcycle folks. You can buy it at Harley stores everywhere for $15. Also get the S100 polish called Shine Enhancing Paint Cleaner for $9. Use both and you'll get awesome results for under $25.
I also recommend a paint cleaning clay to remove surface contaminents. Mothers and Clay Magic make excellent products available everywhere for about $10. Wash and dry the car, clay the paint, polish, then wax and your car should look and feel better than new.
