I read that C&D article too and they really did gush over the CX9, despite some pretty significant faults including the interior and space.

I just rented a Mazda 3, which the car magazine also like to gush over. It drove great and I liked the interior, but the frickin blind spots drove me nuts. I know this is common to so many newer cars, and maybe you get used to it, but I absolutely hate it, and it kind of seems manufacturers have just given up on even pretending to provide good visibility. I could lose a bus in the A-pillars, the giant B pillar was right where you might shoulder check, the door mirror pods were the size of my head, and the rear view mirror was almost at eye level.
