At least I don't have the cost of annual emissions and safety testing - yet.

We had neighbors who moved to St Louis about 25 years ago. The wife commented later to my wife that it cost them over $1200 to register each of their cars! But then said other taxes we experience in Michigan were non-existent in MO.

Her philosophical approach was "the total tax bill seems to be about the same, they just collect it in different ways."
