Yup, the fans do come on with the A/C, or if I check when the car is heated up.

I'm not 100% sure if the thermostat is OEM or not, I can call tomorrow and check. We've brought our cars to this mechanic for 6 years without any trouble, so I'm pretty sure they installed it right...

Is there a cure for a slight head gasket leak? What about the Bar's Leaks stuff? I'm considering dropping it off at a Subaru dealer for a diagnosis...
