I’d love to have my old ‘87 VW Scirocco 16V again even though it was a maintenance mess. Best driving car I’ve ever owned but just got tired of the regular/recurring issues.

VW had to rebuild the tranny a few times (at their expense), an odd Bosch alternator, another annoying electrical issue, and a manual sunroof that wouldn’t close. Traded it in on a Ford Explorer Sport in ‘92 with 142K miles on it.

Still loved it and I dream of owning one again while knowing I probably couldn’t peel my old bones out of it anymore.
