What happened with the Pathfinders?
I owned a Pathfinder and put 125,000 miles on it in 7 years. Other than routine maintenance, I found it to be very dependable. I dropped an injector in the middle of an 800 mile trip, but still made it home. The only time I was stranded was when the fuel pump died.
My point being, if you're killing Pathy's left and right, you're probably driving in conditions that are going to kill just about anything.
The mid 90's Land Rovers have their own unique issues, but nothing that can't be fixed. Parts seem to be a bit expensive in relative terms, but with limited mileage it may not be an issue. Roversnorth.com is a good resource to have in your bookmarks. I like the looks and the LR is a capable off-road beast. The older Series Rovers are more my cup of tea.
