the 911's are actuallly quite reliable & I would say much more so then a C900 :)

Unfortunantly it's been a while since I have read up on these cars but I do know in 87 or 88 porsche upgraded the trans to a much stronger unit, unfortunantly I forget the model something -50

The engines can easily go 200K miles with only simple tuneups being required.

Handling is very tricky on the 80's generation, that is if you plan on driving agressivley like at drivers schools. Some say you need to spend thousands on the suspension to make the car neitral to drive while others are fine with it in stock form.

A friend purchased a 88 911 2 yrs ago with similar miles & in showroom condition. I talked him into replaceing his old shocks for a set of koni's & it transformed the car... he loves it. I drove it once & it's definantly a fun car to drive. His has a different ECU to bring it to about 240 HP & it still isn't as quick as my viggen but a TON of fun to drive

the probelm with the turbo's, is they are extremely expensive to work on
