Glad your 900 has served you well. No need to trash other people's cars though. To call a Civic a "really shitty car" only exposes your own ignorance. Yeah, a $13,000 car that never breaks down, gets 40 mpg on the highway, and rides and handles better than an older 9-3 or 900 is "really shitty". Not to mention the interior quality of the Civic stomping those older Saabs. I've driven a late 90's 9-3 SE and it's fine but hardly anything special. The Civic's double-wishbones all around do a much better job. Oh and it's shifter is also way better - I wish my 9-5 Aero shifted as nicely.
The '01 and up Civics supposedly are not as good as the generation that ended with the '00. That may account for your coworker's and friends problems. That your coworker wore out a '98 Civic probably says more about his car care habits than the car.
Anyway this is totally off topic, just had to respond to the pointless, mean-spirited, snobbish putdowns. It's pitiful to see people on a Saab board put down other cars - 'cause you know the folks on the BMW boards spend plenty of time putting down our cars.
