I don't really see the similarity, however I have to point out something important in your point: the words 'to build'. That we'll likely never see from GM. At least Ford sees the potential in ideas like this. GM just sits on ideas till they tire enough then maybe launches something like, say, a station wagon version of a car they introduce 3 years after the sedan is launched. GOLLY! Neeto! If Ford can launch a Mazda 6 in sedan, wagon and (remember this idea?) a 5 door hatchback in two years, why does GM take sooooo long, if they ever do it at all? Saab needs some mojo!
