When my wife leased her G35 in August, we drove everything else and some of them seemed numb - especially the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The A4 bit the dust because of an exeptionaslly obnoxious salesman (at Rusnak in Pasadena), or it might be in the driveway.
Maybe I was hypnotized by the turntable show. The Saab ocnvertibles were static displays - the swishy Swedish minder would raise or lower the top if someone asked him nicely, but it wasn't quite the same thing. And someone had spilled his coke all over the center console of the non-Anniversary Aero vert. Ick.
Agree about the power - the A4 Audis (not S4) and most Volvos (except the "R" models) are not in the same league as trhe Aero, and the 2.0T is a tad cheaper and a tad faster than the C70.
I'm still waiting for real-world gas mileage on the 9-3 V6 models. The 3.5L V-6 in the G35 is a lovely piece of machinery, but the mileage sucks. I drove it for a week, and in my urban commuting cycle, the 2002 9-3 with a BSR PPC upgrade gets about 18-19 and I got 15.2 in her car. She got 18.0 in my car for a week, and she usually gets 14-15 in hers.
