Husbands, like politicians, have political capital and I suspect mine would be better spent elsewhere (like convincing her I need a 9-3 SC!). Would definitely be looking at an auto on the Matrix anyway, she's not a stick driver. Thanks for the warning on the Mazda3, will certainly pay attention to the fit/finish and all that. Don't imagine it would compare well to a BMW, Mercedes, or even a Saab, but coming off a 10 year old Corolla either car would be a vast improvement.
