Thoughs on new Malibu....vs 9-5...

Hey guys,
Any feelings on the new, much improved, Chevy Malibu?
My folks are turning in their lease on their '06 9-5 and purchasing (not leasing) an '09 Malibu LTZ v6. The 9-5 is a great car, but after leasing an '02 9-5, and then the '06 9-5, they couldn't go for what is really the same car a 3rd time in a row.
From everything I read, and seen in person, the new Malibu seems like a surprisingly great car, and even more surprisingly it seems like something that would even satisfy someone who is coming out of a 9-5. Build quality seems top notch, and the design is quite handsome and clean. The V6 (actually a MODERN GM V6) offers 252 hp and around 250 torque. I doubt it will be as explosive as the 9-5 aero motor, but it should have plenty of pep nonetheless. Fuel economy is identical (v6 vs 2.3 aero) Steering and handling have actually received widespread praise. Interior quality has also received great remarks.
Between the GM employee discount promotion, and a discount associated with turning in the SAAB lease a month early, the fully loaded LTZ v6 came to 24k. Can't really complain about that!
