The XR4i was the exact same body, but the engine was totally different. The XR4Ti got the Lima 2300 from originally (no joke) the Pinto. Its actual contemporaries were the Mustang SVO and Thunderbird Turbocoupe. 100% iron, 2.3l SOHC four cylinder with a big hairdryer on it. I think XR4i was either the Kent (?) 4-cylinder (from the Tempo) or a Cologne (?) 12v V6. Don't quote me on those exact engines, but I think that's right. The Euro versions were fast unless in Cosworth form, but the US XR4Ti was good competition for the Saab 900 and BMW 3-series. Just too weird looking and strangely named and poorly marketed. :)
