We do a big consignment business. Seller gets 85% of proceeds, we get 15% or a minimum of $750 so bikes below $5,000 selling price dealer still makes minimum $750. Seller is paid only after bike is sold. There's also a $98 intake fee and any needed maintenance and repair, service, tires, detail etc., the kind of stuff that we do to the bikes we own, that get's paid up front when the bike is consigned.
Anywhere near San Diego?
Did you run it by the local dealer(s) and see what their cash offer is? Sure you might get more for consignment, but you have to wait until it's sold, and likely not all dealers do consignments.
