Liberty, compass, patriot, and resale Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Mon, 15 Aug 2011 12:17:38 In Reply to: Well...., Craig, Sat, 13 Aug 2011 12:24:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The compass is a joke, jeep should have never even begun to even think about it, much less bring it to market. The liberty is a decent vehicle, a friend of my brother's had one. we took it off road a few times, but the back seat was pretty cramped. I was suprised the first time I sat in an unlimited wrangler, it seemed much bigger in the back seat than the liberty. maybe because there is so little to it... but I liked it better when I drove it too.
The patriot, if you get the correct vehicle is actually pretty decent.. good ground clearence, not to bad to drive, and a real-er 4wd system with a psudo low range. but the ones that come so equipt are almost impossible to find.
I have been looking used. I'm so used to saabs that have a terrible resale value, my wife and I bought a 2007 9-5 aero for 14 grand. new it was what? 38? so in 4 years it lost 24k in value? well the jeeps actually go UP in price, because people put all the add ons on them, bumping up the price...
My wife and I were looking at the patriot as a possability, we found one that had the low range option, and by the front doors of the store they had the 2010 wrangler unlimited, and they said they could sell it for the price we offered to them on the patriot, but then they kept jerking us around on a chain, and the price kept going up. So no jeep for us. I've been looking at used, but they've been way out of our price range, or beat to hell... so we'll keep looking, I'm sure this will be my next vehicle if I'm patient.
