Its been a very long time since I've posted on here... but where else do you turn for solid car talk.

I can't believe I'm considering this VW Beetle... but its a TDI Diesel, 1.9 liter. And who can argue with the 45-50 mpg.

So I know very little about these cars.. however it looks very nice. its a MY2000, Silver exterior on dark grey interior, 105k miles, with a new timing belt, H20 pump, battery, tires, struts, Synth oil, and paper work since new. 2nd owner is selling because its "too nice" and doesn't drive it enough having put 5k miles on it since last March.

Its offered at $6400 and if I like it I will start the neg. near $5500.

So is there anyone out there with any experience with either the VW TDI... or with the beetle in general???

This is a complete impulse but I have a new job with a 50+ mile commute... and this seems like a reasonable commuter to add to the stable.
