I went through that... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Tue, 4 Sep 2012 07:26:23 In Reply to: I wish..., Johnson [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 30 Aug 2012 14:49:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is really hard to find exact models you want, especially of European brands. I rented a Subaru wagon and then later a Forester both for month long road trips... I had considered Suby a good 2nd choice and these (and other rentals of other brands) really firmed up my resolve to buy a 9-5. I would have liked to have rented a V50 or an A4 Avant, but that was seemingly impossible.
I'd suggest renting the 2wd patriot for a week (including a long trip - you'll learn a lot from that!)... that will sort out how it works with kids etc, and that is probably 90% of it... normal rental places will not let you offroad vehicles anyway (it is in the contract you sign). As others suggested, get the dealer to demo that with you. It's a selling feature of the jeep, so they need to be able to demo that somehow... good luck!
