Try the General board. It seems like there are couple of guys there who have them--not sure if they still hang here. My recollection is they raved over them. I like them in theory and have plenty of wheel time in VW and MB diesels. My only reservation is that modern diesels are much, much more complicated (to meet emissions) than the ones I'm familiar with. Gas engines I understand, diesels not so much--not sure if something could rare up and bite me on the ass at some point. I'd be inclined to lease one so I'd have a chance to see what if any issues they have. Cars have gotten so heavy in recent years that even ones that we think of as economical (Civics, Corollas, etc)aren't, especially around town. You pretty much have to go with a hybrid or diesel to get really good mileage. The BMW sounds like a good one.
