Very interesting! What a diverse range of cars. I'll change the fluid and keep my fingers crossed. I know it's not always power that kills transmissions, but hopefully something that can survive (at least for a while) behind a 528i or V6 Rodeo can handle BMWs lightest, least power US model for a while. I had an e30 5-speed 325i and the 318Ti can't compete with that sweetness, but it's actually a pretty nice engine in its own right, just easy to overlook given how great the sixes are (and as you mention how cheap they are now too).
