Volvo New Engine reliability? Posted by TonyJ [Email] (#407) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TonyJ) on Tue, 25 Feb 2014 17:29:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
As a candidate 9-5 Aero replacement, we test drove a 2014 AWD Volvo XC60 premium+ T6 3.0 L 300 HP i6, 6 speed auto yesterday and liked it.. quite the rocket! We look forward to the new "T6" 302 HP Drive-E engine with 8-speed automatic. Mentioned in the thread below by Dan-O, it gives the same performance but with 5 MPG better highway mileage on regular gas. It will be available in the FWD XC60 around June. Does anyone have any knowledge of Volvo's track record on initial reliability of new engine releases? The rest of the XC60 seems to be well-sorted.
I looked at Motor Trend recall site and the only Volvo engine recall was for a 2011 S60: "the vehicle may not alert the driver of a low oil pressure situation."
