if you have absolutely no fear then you need a VW Phaeton. You're basically driving a Bentley for $15k and without looking like an *ss. An NG9-5 would also be a great no fear choice - check them out, they're cheap and basically a brand new car.

The Audi is a wonderful car but would make me nervous, the Lexus is pretty bland but probably as well build as everyone says, though there's still the potential for something very complicated and expensive to go wrong. Try a BMW 7-series for a good balance between Euro feel and reliability/simplicity. An Infinity M35/45 ain't bad either.

I'd second the Passat as well, especially for fuel economy given the miles you'll be putting on.
