Just re-read that and I don't want to sound like I'm some know-it-all because I'm not that way at all...and every minute I spend thinking about T-7 makes me more and more aware of how little I know. The only reason I'm writing here is to help when I can and be helped too. If I write something that is not correct please correct me. In the case of the flash though, unless I've done something wrong with my equipment (which is very possible) I have seen values at addresses change frequently---particularily in the uppermost and lowermost address locations. One of things I plan to do when my package arrives in the mail is to monitor the read vs. write access as well as the traffic. The actual protocol is very simple and the highest frequency I've seen so far has only been around 7-9 MHz so it's not hard to catch.
Anyway, Street, if you know something about machine level coding/communications please share. One question I have right now is how to positively identify the processor. I know it's a Motorolla product and I've narrowed it down to either an early MPC or late 32 bit 68 series. The fact that there is an external bus chip on the board suggests to me that it is a 68 series because if I'm not mistaken, even the early MPC's had integrated controllers...although that doesn't necessarily mean that they would have to be used. Any ideas?
